Staying discreetly reachable

You want to be contactable without being findable. Those are not in conflict, if you set it up right.

Why we suggest a number

After the introduction, the conversation is directly between you. The most practical thing is a number the companion can message, for example on WhatsApp: a conversation at messaging pace is easier than one at email pace.

After that, a short call is the most useful step. In five minutes you hear tone, pace and manners, which tells you more than any written message.

A number that is not your main one

If it makes you more comfortable, use a separate number. It is easy now: a prepaid SIM, an eSIM as a second line on the same phone, or a second-number app.

The point is not anonymity at all costs, it is control: you decide whether and when to move to your usual number.

What your profile picture gives away

Something almost everyone overlooks: messengers show your picture, name and status by default to anyone who has your number. In WhatsApp you can limit that to saved contacts. One minute of work, and the single most effective step in this article.

The first message: specific rather than long

You do not have to explain anything about yourself you would rather not. Three things help: the occasion, roughly when, and the atmosphere you have in mind. Two or three sentences are enough.

What you can safely leave out

Surname, address, employer, exactly where you live. Arranging an evening needs none of it, and nobody serious asks in a first message. If someone insists, that is not a detail, it is a signal.

What happens on our side

Your enquiry does not go straight to a companion but to us first. There are no public profiles and no account anyone could find. The rest is in the privacy policy.

FAQ

Do I need a second phone number?

Not necessarily. Many prefer it because it keeps control over when they move to their usual number.

Why a call before meeting?

Because in five minutes you hear tone and manners, and can judge far better whether meeting makes sense.

Can the companion see my profile picture?

If he has your number and you have not restricted visibility, yes. Messenger privacy settings can limit it to saved contacts.
